Thermal inertia

The thermal inertia and the tight and durable structure of the building determine the thermal comfort and convenience of the occupants; moreover, it has a stabilizing effect on the operation of the entire heating and cooling system. This allows the heating season in solid buildings to start later and finish earlier - which obviously translates into house maintenance costs and environmental impact.

The use of a massive structure in combination with very good thermal insulation is considered to be the best solution to achieve a high thermal inertia of the building. Thanks to this, heat (or chill) is accumulated inside the rooms, and the thermal insulation does not allow for its loss and rapid escape outside. In budiHOME houses the thermal inertia is created through a combination of:
  • solid and accumulative house structure,
  • high precision of structure execution,
  • window and accessory installation techniques (so-called layer sealing installation),
  • insulation layer in three-layer external walls,
  • and a thorough quality control of each of these components.
Thanks to the combination of the above drivers, all budiHOME houses comply with the 2021 building standards i.e. WT2021. We have made one more step and also offer the NF40 energy packages to make buildings greener and more energy efficient. The NF40 energy package in combination with a photovoltaic system creates a net zero energy house.

SHORT HEATING SEASON
The thermal inertia of the house maximizes the efficiency of the entire heating and cooling system - the heating period in winter can start later and finish earlier; in summer there is no need for additional cooling of the building outside the HCR system.

REDUCTION OF MAINTENANCE COSTS
The thermal inertia of the building significantly reduces heating costs in winter and cooling costs in summer.

ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS
Lower energy consumption for heating and cooling a building reduces CO2 emissions.

BOOSTING OF THE PERFORMANCE OF THE HEATING AND COOLING SYSTEM
The thermal inertia of the house has a stabilizing effect on the operation of the entire heating and cooling system, allowing for maximum efficiency of the equipment.
